Rechecking and Revaluation is a three-stage process –
1. Students must first apply for re-totaling,
2. Then request photocopy
3. And then apply for a reevaluation of specific questions.
Note: These are all separately chargeable.
Step 1: Apply for Re-Totaling
To begin, students must apply for the rescheduling of marks. As is clear, under this, CBSE will only check the answer sheets for total errors and also if no question has been identified by the teacher. The fee suggested by CBSE will apply. Students can apply to sort as many subjects as they want. Also, in case of any change (increase or decrease), the new mark will be considered as final.
Step 2: Apply for a photocopy of answer sheet
If students are not satisfied overall, the second step is to apply for a photocopy of their answer sheets. Please remember – Students can only apply for a photocopy of the answer book for the subject in which they have requested to be submitted again. Once the copy of the answer sheet (in image form) is shared online, students can check their answers and match them to the marking scheme of CBSE.
3: Apply for revaluation
The last step is revalidation. Students can apply for revaluation if they are assured that they have been incorrectly marked for a specific question. Again, students can apply for re-invalidation only for subjects for which they have requested a photocopy. Further, the revaluation process will be for specific questions only and not for the entire paper. Students will also be charged based on the number of questions for which they request a reevaluation.
